Role Overview
A high-growth fintech initiative in Riyadh is seeking a results-oriented Senior Manager – Digital Payments Optimization, Merchant Growth & Financial Operations Excellence to lead the strategic and operational performance of merchant payment ecosystems.
This role sits at the core of fintech execution—where operational efficiency, merchant satisfaction, and transaction reliability converge to drive business success. You will oversee the optimization of payment flows, merchant onboarding, settlement cycles, reconciliation processes, and financial performance metrics across large-scale payment environments.
The successful candidate will combine analytical rigor with operational leadership to continuously improve transaction success rates, reduce settlement friction, enhance merchant experience, and strengthen financial controls.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead optimization of payment operations including transaction processing, settlement cycles, and reconciliation workflows
- Develop strategies to improve merchant onboarding, activation, retention, and revenue growth
- Monitor and enhance KPIs such as transaction success rates, settlement turnaround time, and operational efficiency
- Manage payment exceptions including chargebacks, refunds, reversals, and dispute resolution
- Collaborate with banks, payment processors, and acquiring partners to ensure seamless transaction execution
- Strengthen governance across financial controls, authorization processes, and operational risk management
- Drive automation initiatives to streamline operational workflows and reporting processes
- Ensure compliance with Saudi regulatory frameworks, AML standards, and customer protection requirements
- Build data-driven insights to support decision-making and continuous operational improvement
- Lead and mentor teams responsible for merchant operations and financial processing
- Support audit readiness, regulatory reviews, and internal control testing
Required Candidate Profile
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related discipline
- 7+ years of experience in fintech operations, payment processing, or financial services
- Strong expertise in merchant acquiring, payment gateways, and settlement systems
- Deep understanding of transaction lifecycle management and operational controls
- Experience managing high-volume payment environments
- Strong analytical and reporting capabilities
- Knowledge of Saudi fintech regulatory landscape preferred
- Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience within digital banking or fintech startups
- Exposure to real-time payment systems and instant settlement models
- Familiarity with automation tools and analytics platforms
- Knowledge of merchant performance optimization strategies
