Strategic Role Overview
An advanced fintech institution in Doha is seeking an expert Principal Blockchain Infrastructure Engineer – Cross-Border Payments & Digital Asset Networks to design and manage blockchain infrastructure supporting international payments, digital asset transfers, and institutional settlement systems.
This role is focused on building the backbone of blockchain-enabled financial infrastructure—where speed, security, and reliability are paramount. You will work on systems that facilitate seamless movement of value across borders, enabling faster settlements, reduced costs, and enhanced transparency for financial institutions and enterprises.
The position requires deep technical expertise in distributed systems, blockchain infrastructure, and financial technology integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain blockchain infrastructure supporting cross-border payments and digital asset transactions
- Develop systems for secure and efficient value transfer across distributed networks
- Integrate blockchain platforms with traditional financial systems and payment networks
- Optimize infrastructure for scalability, reliability, and performance
- Implement security protocols to protect digital assets and transaction integrity
- Monitor network performance and resolve operational issues
- Collaborate with engineering teams to deploy and manage blockchain nodes and services
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements in Qatar and international markets
- Develop tools for transaction monitoring, analytics, and reporting
- Support integration with digital wallets, custody systems, and payment platforms
- Contribute to research and development of emerging blockchain technologies
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering with strong blockchain expertise
- Proficiency in Go, Rust, Python, or similar programming languages
- Experience with blockchain platforms such as Ethereum, Hyperledger, or similar
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and network architecture
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices
- Knowledge of cryptography and blockchain security principles
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Experience in fintech or financial services preferred
Preferred Expertise
- Experience with cross-border payment systems and financial integration
- Knowledge of digital asset custody and wallet infrastructure
- Exposure to Layer 2 scaling solutions and interoperability protocols
- Familiarity with monitoring and analytics tools for blockchain networks
