A rapidly evolving financial technology ecosystem in Abu Dhabi is seeking a highly accomplished Principal Blockchain Developer to architect, build, and scale enterprise-grade blockchain solutions powering next-generation payments, tokenized financial services, smart contract ecosystems, and secure digital asset operations.
This role is designed for professionals who understand that blockchain development within fintech is not merely about writing decentralized code—it is about building trust architecture where security, transparency, compliance, transaction finality, and operational resilience define the success of modern financial systems.
The successful candidate will work across mission-critical platforms involving payment rails, tokenized treasury operations, merchant acquiring, institutional wallet ecosystems, programmable settlements, reconciliation automation, and distributed ledger integrations supporting enterprise financial infrastructure.
You will collaborate closely with backend engineers, security architects, compliance leaders, DevOps specialists, treasury operations teams, payment strategists, and executive stakeholders to create blockchain-powered platforms where precision and trust are non-negotiable.
Core Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain blockchain platforms supporting payments, settlements, and enterprise financial services
- Build secure smart contracts for escrow workflows, programmable settlements, transaction automation, and financial agreement execution
- Develop distributed ledger integrations for wallets, merchant acquiring systems, treasury platforms, and reconciliation engines
- Optimize blockchain transaction performance, gas efficiency, settlement speed, and network reliability across high-volume operations
- Create secure APIs connecting blockchain services with banking systems, payment gateways, and enterprise financial applications
- Implement wallet security models, custody workflows, transaction monitoring systems, and blockchain audit trails
- Support fraud prevention controls, suspicious transaction verification systems, and compliance reporting frameworks
- Collaborate with DevOps teams on blockchain node infrastructure, deployment automation, and production resilience
- Strengthen platform security involving private key protection, digital signatures, encryption standards, and secure asset handling
- Participate in architecture governance, code quality reviews, and technical mentorship across blockchain engineering teams
- Troubleshoot production incidents and improve operational recovery strategies for mission-critical systems
- Contribute to long-term blockchain modernization and enterprise digital asset transformation initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline
- 6+ years of professional software development experience with strong blockchain specialization
- Deep expertise in Solidity, smart contract architecture, and distributed ledger systems
- Strong knowledge of Ethereum, Polygon, Hyperledger, or equivalent blockchain ecosystems
- Experience with backend development using Python, JavaScript, Node.js, or Java for blockchain integrations
- Familiarity with cryptographic principles, wallet security models, custody frameworks, and digital signatures
- Strong understanding of payment systems, transaction lifecycle management, and fintech operational architecture
- Knowledge of blockchain security standards, secure coding practices, and financial compliance frameworks
- Experience in digital payments, fintech platforms, or enterprise financial systems is highly preferred
- Strong debugging, optimization, and systems-thinking capability
