A rapidly growing fintech organization is searching for a highly accomplished Principal – Backend Systems Architecture to lead the design and modernization of enterprise backend platforms supporting digital payments, financial analytics, AI-powered banking, merchant acquiring, and real-time transaction processing.
This strategic position offers an opportunity to influence enterprise architecture while mentoring engineering teams responsible for some of the region’s most advanced financial technology solutions.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead the architectural design of enterprise backend platforms.
- Develop resilient distributed systems capable of processing high-volume financial transactions.
- Define engineering standards, architecture principles, and backend development frameworks.
- Build secure API ecosystems connecting banking platforms and financial applications.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Product, QA, and DevOps teams.
- Optimize platform scalability, reliability, and fault tolerance.
- Improve system observability through logging, monitoring, and performance analytics.
- Guide engineering teams through code reviews, technical mentorship, and architecture governance.
- Support modernization initiatives involving cloud-native infrastructure and container orchestration.
- Evaluate emerging backend technologies and enterprise engineering practices.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
- Significant experience designing enterprise backend solutions within fintech or banking.
- Expertise in distributed systems, cloud architecture, Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, SQL/NoSQL databases, and API management.
- Strong understanding of software security, scalability, and financial transaction systems.
- Outstanding technical leadership and stakeholder management abilities.
