Role Overview
A fast-growing fintech initiative in Riyadh is seeking a highly organized and process-driven Lead Reconciliation & Settlement Officer – Merchant Payments, Financial Operations & Process Optimization to oversee reconciliation and settlement activities across merchant payment systems and financial operations.
This role is central to maintaining financial discipline and operational efficiency. You will ensure that all merchant transactions are accurately reconciled, settlements are executed on time, and discrepancies are resolved with speed and precision.
You will also play a key role in optimizing reconciliation workflows, introducing automation, and improving operational performance across large-scale financial systems.
Core Responsibilities
- Oversee reconciliation of merchant transactions across payment platforms, banks, and internal systems
- Manage settlement processes for merchant payouts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Investigate discrepancies, resolve exceptions, and ensure proper financial adjustments
- Develop and implement reconciliation procedures and operational controls
- Monitor settlement cycles and optimize payout schedules
- Collaborate with banks, payment processors, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations
- Automate reconciliation processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors
- Prepare financial reports and reconciliation statements for management
- Ensure compliance with Saudi financial regulations and operational standards
- Track operational KPIs and implement performance improvement initiatives
- Support audits and regulatory reviews
Required Candidate Profile
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 6+ years of experience in reconciliation, settlement, or financial operations
- Strong understanding of merchant payments and transaction processing
- Experience with reconciliation systems and financial tools
- High attention to detail and analytical thinking
- Ability to manage multiple processes and deadlines
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Knowledge of Saudi fintech environment preferred
Preferred Skills
- Experience with automation tools and process optimization
- Familiarity with payment gateways and acquiring systems
- Exposure to real-time payment systems
- Knowledge of financial reporting and compliance frameworks
