Role Overview
A rapidly expanding fintech initiative in Riyadh is seeking a highly analytical and technically versatile Lead Fintech Technology Officer – Data Engineering, Analytics Platforms & Cloud Solutions to lead the design and deployment of large-scale financial data systems.
This role is ideal for a professional who can bridge data engineering, software development, and cloud architecture, leveraging Python for data pipelines, SQL for data modeling, Java for backend integration, and cloud platforms such as AWS and Google Cloud to build intelligent financial systems.
You will be responsible for transforming raw financial data into structured, high-value insights that support analytics, reporting, risk management, and business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain data pipelines using Python for ingestion, transformation, and processing of financial data
- Design and optimize SQL-based data warehouses and data models
- Develop backend services using Java for data integration and system interoperability
- Architect and manage scalable cloud-based data platforms on AWS and Google Cloud
- Implement APIs to enable seamless data exchange across systems and applications
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across financial platforms
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to support advanced analytics and modeling
- Optimize performance of data systems for large-scale processing
- Automate workflows and deployments using CI/CD pipelines
- Ensure compliance with Saudi financial regulations and data governance frameworks
- Lead and mentor technical teams, fostering innovation and best practices
Required Candidate Profile
- Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field
- 6+ years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, or fintech technology
- Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and Java
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud)
- Strong understanding of data architecture, ETL processes, and analytics systems
- Experience with APIs and system integrations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Leadership and team management experience
Preferred Skills
- Experience with big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop)
- Knowledge of machine learning integration
- Familiarity with real-time data streaming systems
