Role Philosophy
At its core, this role revolves around making high-quality credit decisions at scale. As a Credit Risk Manager, you will design frameworks that determine who receives financing, under what terms, and at what level of risk exposure—balancing growth with financial stability.
Decision-Making Framework Responsibilities
Credit Policy Development
- Define lending criteria, risk thresholds, and approval frameworks.
- Continuously refine policies based on market conditions and portfolio performance.
Risk Modeling & Analysis
- Develop and oversee credit scoring models and risk assessment tools.
- Incorporate alternative data sources for more accurate decision-making.
Portfolio Monitoring
- Track loan performance, default rates, and repayment behavior.
- Adjust strategies to maintain a balanced and profitable portfolio.
Risk Mitigation
- Identify potential risk exposures and implement controls.
- Collaborate with collections and operations teams to manage delinquency.
Technical & Analytical Skills
- Strong expertise in credit risk modeling, financial analysis, and lending systems.
- Familiarity with data tools and predictive analytics.
- Ability to interpret complex datasets into actionable risk strategies.
Experience Profile
- 6–10 years in credit risk, lending, or fintech analytics.
- Experience with consumer or SME lending products.
