Role Overview
A highly advanced financial innovation environment in Dubai is seeking a visionary Chief Architect – Digital Financial Infrastructure & Open Banking Ecosystems to design, govern, and scale the next generation of financial systems powering payments, lending, merchant services, and embedded finance across regional and global markets.
This role is built for a senior fintech architect who operates at the intersection of enterprise system design, financial regulation, API ecosystems, and large-scale platform engineering. The successful candidate will define how financial services are exposed, consumed, secured, and monetized across interconnected digital ecosystems.
The mandate is to build a unified financial infrastructure layer that enables seamless interoperability between banks, fintech platforms, merchants, regulators, and third-party financial service providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Define enterprise architecture strategy for open banking, API ecosystems, and digital financial infrastructure
- Design scalable system frameworks connecting core banking systems, payment rails, merchant platforms, and third-party fintech services
- Lead modernization of financial infrastructure including identity systems, transaction engines, data platforms, and payment orchestration layers
- Establish architectural standards for security, scalability, resilience, and regulatory compliance across all digital financial systems
- Drive integration of embedded finance capabilities across retail, SME, and enterprise ecosystems
- Collaborate with regulators, cybersecurity teams, compliance units, and enterprise governance bodies to ensure system-wide alignment
- Oversee technical governance of APIs, microservices architecture, cloud financial systems, and real-time transaction processing environments
- Evaluate emerging technologies including distributed ledger systems, AI-driven financial routing, and next-gen payment protocols
- Support strategic expansion of financial infrastructure into new regional and international markets
- Mentor senior engineering, architecture, and platform leadership teams
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Financial Technology, or Systems Architecture
- 10+ years of senior experience in fintech architecture, digital banking systems, or enterprise financial platforms
- Deep expertise in API design, cloud-native architecture, distributed systems, and financial transaction processing
- Strong understanding of open banking frameworks, payment infrastructure, and enterprise data systems
- Experience working within regulated financial environments and compliance-driven architectures
- Proven leadership in large-scale system transformation programs
- Strong technical governance and executive communication skills
