A rapidly advancing financial technology ecosystem in Saudi Arabia is actively seeking a highly experienced Senior Fintech Payments Systems Engineer to architect, optimize, and maintain enterprise-grade payment infrastructures supporting large-scale digital financial transactions, merchant payment ecosystems, and next-generation banking technologies.
This position is designed for technically elite professionals with deep expertise in payment system engineering, transaction routing infrastructures, financial APIs, digital banking integrations, and high-availability fintech environments. The selected candidate will become part of a mission-critical engineering division responsible for supporting resilient payment architectures capable of processing millions of secure financial transactions across modern digital commerce ecosystems.
The organization seeks a professional capable of combining advanced software engineering expertise with strong operational awareness, payment ecosystem intelligence, infrastructure scalability knowledge, and fintech innovation capabilities.
Strategic Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize highly scalable payment processing infrastructures supporting digital transactions, merchant acquiring systems, payment gateways, and electronic financial services.
- Engineer secure real-time payment routing systems capable of supporting high-volume transaction processing environments with minimal latency.
- Build and maintain API-driven payment integrations connecting fintech platforms with banking institutions, card schemes, merchant ecosystems, and financial service providers.
- Support the implementation of modern payment technologies including instant payment systems, QR payment infrastructures, tokenized transaction frameworks, and embedded finance solutions.
- Monitor payment system performance, transaction throughput, infrastructure stability, and settlement processing efficiency across enterprise fintech environments.
- Troubleshoot complex payment system failures, transaction processing disruptions, settlement delays, and infrastructure bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to strengthen payment infrastructure resilience, transaction encryption standards, authentication controls, and fraud prevention mechanisms.
- Participate in payment platform modernization projects involving cloud migration, microservices architecture deployment, containerized payment environments, and transaction scalability optimization.
- Conduct performance testing, stress testing, API validation, and payment system reliability assessments.
- Support compliance alignment with PCI-DSS standards, payment governance regulations, and fintech operational security frameworks.
- Develop technical documentation covering payment architecture, API integrations, infrastructure workflows, and transaction processing logic.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, fintech architects, DevOps engineers, compliance officers, and operational support teams.
Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Financial Technology, or related technical disciplines.
- 6–10 years of experience in payment systems engineering, fintech platform development, digital banking infrastructure, or transaction processing environments.
- Strong expertise in payment gateways, ISO 8583 messaging, API integrations, transaction routing systems, and financial middleware infrastructures.
- Experience with Java, Go, Python, Node.js, .NET, or similar backend engineering technologies.
- Strong understanding of cloud-native infrastructure, Kubernetes, Docker, microservices, and distributed system architectures.
- Familiarity with banking integrations, SWIFT connectivity, settlement systems, and digital payment ecosystems.
- Experience supporting high-availability enterprise transaction environments.
