A high-growth financial technology transformation initiative in Qatar is seeking a Lead Blockchain Developer to drive enterprise architecture, engineering strategy, and software delivery across blockchain-powered payment systems, merchant acquiring platforms, cross-border settlements, compliance automation, digital asset custody frameworks, and financial intelligence services.
This role is built for a senior engineering professional capable of bridging hands-on blockchain development with strategic leadership—someone who can define both the technical systems and the engineering standards required to scale secure financial infrastructure.
You will serve as a technical authority responsible for ensuring platform security, transaction integrity, operational resilience, and long-term sustainability across complex fintech ecosystems.

Strategic Responsibilities
- Lead blockchain architecture and backend engineering across enterprise fintech platforms
- Build scalable systems for tokenized payments, merchant settlements, digital wallets, and transaction routing
- Define engineering standards for smart contract governance, API security, platform observability, and operational resilience
- Improve settlement architecture, treasury workflows, and reconciliation systems for financial operations
- Oversee software delivery across multiple engineering teams supporting blockchain and payment products
- Strengthen fraud detection systems, compliance automation workflows, and financial intelligence reporting
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, compliance, infrastructure, and executive leadership on strategic platform decisions
- Drive engineering excellence through code governance, mentorship, architecture reviews, and technical hiring
- Lead incident management, production reliability improvements, and platform recovery strategies
- Support regulatory technology integrations and compliance-focused blockchain development initiatives
- Evaluate emerging blockchain technologies that improve payment efficiency and financial risk controls
- Contribute to enterprise-wide digital transformation strategy across large-scale fintech ecosystems
Executive Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline
- 7+ years of professional software development experience with strong blockchain leadership exposure
- Advanced expertise in Solidity, blockchain architecture, distributed systems engineering, and smart contract security
- Strong command of Ethereum ecosystems, Hyperledger, Web3 infrastructure, APIs, and backend engineering
- Experience with Kubernetes, cloud platforms, CI/CD automation, and enterprise deployment systems
- Deep understanding of payment systems, transaction lifecycles, and fintech operational architecture
- Proven leadership within high-availability banking, payments, or digital asset environments
- Strong stakeholder management and technical decision-making capabilities
- Experience in digital banking, enterprise fintech, or blockchain financial infrastructure is strongly preferred
