Position Overview
The Reconciliation & Settlements Officer plays a critical control function within fintech operations, ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of financial transactions across multiple payment channels. This role is essential in maintaining trust in digital financial systems by guaranteeing that all transactional data aligns with settlement records and partner institutions.
Primary Accountability Areas
Transaction Reconciliation
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations between internal transaction records and external financial partners.
- Investigate discrepancies, identify root causes, and ensure timely resolution.
- Maintain reconciliation logs and audit trails for compliance and reporting purposes.
Settlement Coordination
- Oversee settlement cycles, ensuring timely transfer of funds between accounts and counterparties.
- Monitor settlement statuses and proactively address delays or failures.
Control & Risk Monitoring
- Identify anomalies in transaction flows and escalate potential risks.
- Strengthen internal controls to prevent financial inconsistencies or losses.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare reconciliation summaries and settlement reports for internal stakeholders.
- Support audit processes by providing accurate and well-documented financial records.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- 3–5 years of experience in reconciliation, settlements, or financial operations.
- Strong numerical accuracy and analytical skills.
