Role Summary
A sophisticated fintech transformation environment in Riyadh is recruiting an experienced Director of Quality Engineering – Fintech Payments & Financial Systems to lead testing strategy, release governance, platform assurance, and quality engineering excellence across payment ecosystems, digital banking platforms, and financial transaction services.
This role requires a highly strategic leader capable of ensuring that complex financial systems operate with precision, security, and reliability. The successful candidate will own enterprise testing governance across payments, customer servicing platforms, financial APIs, and mission-critical transaction systems while supporting large-scale digital transformation initiatives.

Core Responsibilities
- Lead strategic quality engineering initiatives across payments, merchant services, and digital financial platforms
- Build testing governance frameworks for enterprise software releases and financial platform modernization programs
- Strengthen automation architecture across API testing, mobile platforms, transaction systems, and customer financial journeys
- Improve quality controls across settlements, transaction processing, and reconciliation validation workflows
- Drive UAT strategy, defect governance, release management, and production readiness standards
- Collaborate with compliance, operations, finance, and technology teams to ensure enterprise-wide delivery quality
- Introduce performance testing, resilience testing, and system reliability improvement frameworks
- Develop executive reporting across platform stability, defect trends, and quality performance KPIs
- Support regulatory audit readiness and documentation governance across testing functions
- Lead root cause investigations and continuous improvement initiatives for platform reliability
- Build leadership capability across QA engineering teams and succession planning frameworks
- Support strategic modernization of legacy payment systems and banking infrastructure
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field
- Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in QA engineering, testing leadership, or fintech platform assurance
- Strong expertise in payment systems testing, automation engineering, and release governance
- Understanding of Saudi financial technology regulations and banking transformation priorities
- Proven leadership across high-scale financial platform modernization programs
- Strong executive stakeholder management and board-level reporting capability
- Advanced strategic planning and quality leadership expertise
