Role Overview
A high-growth digital finance environment is seeking a technically astute Digital Payments Optimization Specialist to enhance transaction efficiency, reduce processing friction, and strengthen payment gateway performance across regional and international corridors.
This role is centered on payment lifecycle engineering, ensuring seamless orchestration between acquiring banks, card schemes, APIs, and digital wallets.
Core Responsibilities
- Architect and optimize payment routing logic across multiple gateways and processors
- Monitor real-time transaction flows, identifying latency, failure rates, and reconciliation inconsistencies
- Collaborate with engineering teams to refine API integrations (RESTful, ISO 8583 messaging)
- Implement fraud detection signals within transaction pipelines
- Analyze payment data to increase authorization rates and reduce chargebacks
- Work with regional compliance frameworks (e.g., PCI-DSS alignment)
Required Expertise
- 4–7 years in fintech, payment processing, or digital banking ecosystems
- Strong understanding of payment infrastructures (cards, wallets, BNPL, cross-border transfers)
- Familiarity with tools like SQL, Python, or payment analytics dashboards
- Experience integrating APIs and managing payment gateways
