This role is positioned at the intersection of financial systems engineering, payment architecture, and strategic optimization, tasked with ensuring that digital payment ecosystems are resilient, scalable, and future-ready.
Strategic Mandate
The Digital Payments Infrastructure Strategist will:
- Architect payment frameworks that support instant settlements and high transaction throughput
- Optimize system reliability across distributed financial environments
- Ensure interoperability between banks, fintech platforms, and payment gateways
Key Responsibilities
- Design and refine end-to-end payment processing architectures
- Oversee integration of payment gateways, wallets, and banking APIs
- Analyze transaction flows to identify latency bottlenecks and optimize performance
- Implement failover systems and redundancy protocols to ensure uptime
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical infrastructure with business growth strategies
- Monitor payment system KPIs including throughput, success rates, and settlement efficiency
Required Expertise
- Deep understanding of payment systems architecture and transaction lifecycles
- Experience with real-time payment rails and settlement systems
- Knowledge of ISO 20022 messaging standards and financial protocols
- Familiarity with distributed systems and cloud-based infrastructure
Professional Background
- 7–12 years in fintech, payments, or financial systems engineering
- Proven experience working on scalable digital payment platforms
- Strong analytical and systems-thinking capabilities
