Position Overview
An expanding financial technology organization is seeking a visionary Chief Digital Payments Transformation Officer to lead enterprise-wide modernization of next-generation payment ecosystems. This executive role is responsible for shaping innovative payment strategies, optimizing transaction infrastructures, strengthening digital banking capabilities, and delivering scalable financial solutions across domestic and international markets.
The successful candidate will oversee cross-functional technology teams, regulatory initiatives, enterprise architecture, commercial partnerships, and strategic innovation programs while ensuring operational excellence throughout the payment lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop long-term digital payment transformation strategies.
- Lead modernization of payment gateways, card processing, and digital wallets.
- Drive Open Banking and API ecosystem development.
- Oversee cross-border payment optimization initiatives.
- Improve transaction speed, security, and customer experience.
- Collaborate with compliance teams on AML, KYC, PCI-DSS, and regulatory frameworks.
- Lead executive decision-making for enterprise payment technologies.
- Build partnerships with financial institutions and technology providers.
- Develop payment innovation roadmaps aligned with organizational objectives.
- Manage executive budgets and technology investment portfolios.
- Introduce automation using Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
- Monitor financial performance and operational KPIs.
- Strengthen fraud prevention and transaction monitoring capabilities.
- Mentor senior technology and product leadership teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline.
- Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
- 12+ years of experience within fintech, banking, or payment technology.
- Proven executive leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of digital payment infrastructures.
- Experience with payment switching, acquiring, issuing, settlement, and reconciliation.
- Deep understanding of ISO 20022, API ecosystems, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, and financial regulations.
- Excellent stakeholder management capabilities.
- Strong commercial and strategic planning experience.
