Role Overview
The Financial Technology Operations Lead is responsible for orchestrating the operational backbone of digital financial services, ensuring that all transactional systems, payment flows, and customer-facing financial products operate with maximum efficiency and reliability.
This role sits at the intersection of operations, technology, and regulatory compliance, requiring a professional who can seamlessly coordinate across distributed teams while maintaining a strong command of fintech infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of digital payment platforms, including transfers, merchant payments, and wallet services
- Manage the full transaction lifecycle: initiation, authorization, clearing, settlement, and reconciliation
- Establish and refine operational frameworks, workflows, and escalation protocols
- Monitor system performance metrics such as uptime, latency, and transaction success rates
- Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve system issues and implement performance enhancements
- Ensure compliance with UAE financial regulations, including AML and KYC requirements
- Lead operational risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies
- Drive automation initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Information Systems, or Business Administration
- 5–8 years of experience in fintech operations, banking, or payment systems
- Strong understanding of financial transaction processes and infrastructure
- Experience with reconciliation systems and operational reporting tools
Preferred Competencies
- Familiarity with real-time payment systems and open banking frameworks
- Analytical proficiency using SQL, Excel, or BI tools
- Strong leadership and cross-functional coordination skills
