Position Overview
This role combines strategic planning with hands-on operational execution within a modern fintech payments environment. The Digital Payments Strategy & Operations Manager will be responsible for shaping payment strategies while ensuring the efficient day-to-day functioning of digital payment systems.
The position requires a strong understanding of both macro-level payment trends and micro-level operational processes, ensuring alignment between long-term vision and immediate execution.
Strategic Responsibilities
- Develop and refine digital payments strategy aligned with market trends in Qatar and the broader GCC region.
- Identify new opportunities in areas such as mobile payments, real-time transfers, and merchant acquiring solutions.
- Evaluate emerging payment technologies and recommend adoption where beneficial.
- Analyze competitive landscape and benchmark performance against regional and global standards.
Operational Responsibilities
- Oversee daily payment operations, ensuring high transaction success rates and minimal downtime.
- Manage relationships with payment processors, banks, and third-party service providers.
- Monitor transaction flows and resolve operational issues in real time.
- Ensure proper reconciliation of transactions across systems.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with product, engineering, and compliance teams.
- Act as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Support decision-making with data-driven insights.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in fintech, payments, or banking operations.
- Strong understanding of payment systems, including cards, wallets, and bank transfers.
- Experience in both strategy development and operational execution.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
