Executive Position Overview

An advanced financial technology programme is seeking a highly accomplished Legal Officer – Digital Finance Regulatory & Corporate Legal Affairs to serve as a strategic legal advisor supporting enterprise-wide fintech innovation, digital banking modernization, payment infrastructure expansion, artificial intelligence governance, technology partnerships, and regulatory compliance.

This role extends beyond traditional legal practice. The successful professional will become an integral member of multidisciplinary leadership teams, ensuring that every fintech initiative is supported by legally sound frameworks, commercially balanced agreements, proactive risk management, and internationally aligned governance standards.

Working alongside executive leadership, technology architects, cybersecurity specialists, compliance professionals, product strategists, and digital transformation teams, the Legal Officer will influence major enterprise initiatives from concept through deployment while safeguarding legal integrity throughout the organization’s digital finance ecosystem.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal guidance for enterprise fintech initiatives.

• Draft, negotiate, and review high-value commercial agreements.

• Prepare technology licensing and software development contracts.

• Review cloud computing and infrastructure agreements.

• Advise on digital banking legal frameworks.

• Support enterprise payment modernization programmes.

• Assess legal risks associated with AI-enabled financial services.

• Draft API integration and platform partnership agreements.

• Support cross-border fintech collaborations.

• Interpret financial regulatory developments.

• Develop enterprise legal governance policies.

• Review procurement and vendor contracts.

• Advise executive leadership on legal implications of emerging technologies.

• Coordinate external legal counsel when required.

• Lead enterprise contract lifecycle management.

• Conduct legal due diligence for strategic projects.

• Support intellectual property protection initiatives.

• Draft enterprise governance documentation.

• Strengthen legal risk mitigation strategies.

• Deliver legal training for business and technology teams.

• Maintain enterprise legal documentation repositories.

• Participate in executive governance committees.

• Support dispute prevention and resolution.

• Monitor evolving international fintech legislation.

• Recommend continuous legal process improvements.

Professional Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law (LL.B., LL.M., or equivalent).

• Qualified legal practitioner with 8+ years of post-qualification experience.

• Extensive experience supporting fintech, banking, technology, or financial services.

• Strong commercial contract drafting expertise.

• Knowledge of digital banking and payment ecosystems.

• Experience advising executive leadership.

• Excellent negotiation and analytical skills.

• Ability to manage complex legal matters across multiple jurisdictions.
