Position Overview
An expanding banking institution is looking for a highly analytical Credit Officer to evaluate lending opportunities, assess financial risks, and support responsible credit decision-making. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining a high-quality loan portfolio while ensuring compliance with internal credit policies and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate retail and commercial loan applications.
- Perform comprehensive credit and financial analysis.
- Assess customer repayment capacity and risk exposure.
- Review financial statements, credit histories, and supporting documentation.
- Prepare detailed credit assessment reports.
- Recommend credit approvals or declines based on established criteria.
- Monitor existing loan portfolios for potential risks.
- Support periodic credit reviews and portfolio assessments.
- Ensure compliance with lending regulations and internal policies.
- Collaborate with relationship managers and underwriting teams.
- Identify early warning indicators of credit deterioration.
- Maintain accurate lending documentation and records.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration.
- Experience in banking credit analysis or lending operations.
- Strong analytical and financial assessment skills.
- Knowledge of corporate and retail lending practices.
- Understanding of financial statement analysis.
- Excellent report writing and presentation abilities.
- High attention to detail and sound judgment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and banking systems.
