Role Overview
This position sits at the operational core of a fast-scaling fintech payments environment, where transaction volume, settlement accuracy, and financial integrity must coexist with speed and innovation. As Senior Payments Operations & Reconciliation Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that every transaction processed across multiple payment rails is accurately tracked, reconciled, and settled.
You will function as the critical control layer between payment processing systems, banking partners, and financial reporting functions.
Key Responsibilities
Payments Operations Management
- Oversee daily processing of transactions across cards, bank transfers, and digital wallets
- Monitor payment flows to ensure successful authorization, clearing, and settlement
- Identify and resolve transaction failures, delays, or inconsistencies
Reconciliation & Financial Accuracy
- Perform end-to-end reconciliation between internal ledgers, payment gateways, and banking partners
- Investigate discrepancies and implement corrective actions within defined SLAs
- Maintain audit-ready records of all transaction flows and adjustments
Process Optimization
- Improve reconciliation processes through automation and system enhancements
- Collaborate with engineering teams to reduce manual intervention in transaction matching
- Develop standardized operating procedures for payment operations
Risk & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to financial controls and internal audit requirements
- Support fraud monitoring teams by flagging suspicious transaction patterns
- Maintain compliance with regulatory expectations related to payment processing
Candidate Requirements
- 6–10 years of experience in payments operations, fintech, or banking
- Strong understanding of transaction lifecycles (authorization to settlement)
- Experience with reconciliation tools, ERP systems, or payment platforms
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with financial controls and audit processes
