Role Overview
A high-velocity fintech ecosystem in Dubai is seeking a mathematically rigorous and production-focused Senior Data Scientist – Financial Intelligence, Fraud Modeling & Real-Time Decision Analytics to architect and deploy advanced models that power mission-critical financial decisions.
This is not a purely research-oriented position—this is applied data science at scale, where models directly influence transaction approvals, fraud detection, customer segmentation, and revenue optimization. You will work with high-frequency financial datasets, extracting predictive signals and deploying models into real-time systems with measurable business impact.
You will operate at the intersection of statistics, machine learning, and financial systems, transforming complex data into intelligent, automated decision engines.
Core Responsibilities
- Design and deploy machine learning models for fraud detection, anomaly detection, and transaction scoring
- Develop predictive models for customer behavior, churn, and lifetime value
- Analyze large-scale transactional datasets to uncover patterns and insights
- Build feature engineering pipelines for structured and unstructured data
- Collaborate with data engineers to deploy models into production environments
- Optimize models for accuracy, latency, and scalability
- Conduct A/B testing and model validation
- Monitor model performance and implement retraining strategies
- Ensure compliance with UAE data protection and financial regulations
- Document methodologies, assumptions, and results
- Communicate insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Stay updated on emerging data science techniques
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in data science or machine learning
- Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and ML frameworks (Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch)
- Strong foundation in statistics and probability
- Experience with large-scale data processing
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience with graph-based fraud detection models
- Knowledge of deep learning and advanced analytics
- Familiarity with big data tools (Spark, Hadoop)
