Position Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to lead the design and optimization of enterprise-grade backend systems supporting digital payment platforms and modern financial services. This role is suited for an accomplished software engineer with a passion for building secure, highly available, and performance-driven backend infrastructures capable of supporting rapidly growing digital ecosystems.
The successful candidate will contribute to the technical direction of backend engineering initiatives, mentor development teams, and help establish engineering standards that promote scalability, maintainability, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Design enterprise backend architecture for mission-critical applications.
- Develop scalable APIs supporting digital financial services.
- Build secure authentication and authorization frameworks.
- Optimize backend systems for high availability and resilience.
- Lead database optimization initiatives.
- Improve application performance through profiling and tuning.
- Implement distributed caching solutions.
- Integrate payment gateways and external financial services.
- Conduct peer code reviews and mentor engineering teams.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to improve deployment automation.
- Support platform modernization initiatives.
- Strengthen application security and compliance practices.
- Produce technical architecture documentation.
- Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
- Drive engineering innovation across backend platforms.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
- Extensive experience building enterprise backend systems.
- Strong proficiency in Java, Go, .NET, Python, or Node.js.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Strong understanding of distributed architectures.
- Experience using Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native platforms.
- Knowledge of API gateway technologies.
- Familiarity with CI/CD and infrastructure automation.
