An ambitious fintech banking institution is embarking on one of the Gulf region’s largest digital banking modernization programmes and is seeking an exceptional Senior Backend Developer to engineer the mission-critical systems that power millions of secure financial transactions every day.
This role offers far more than software development. You will become a core contributor to the organization’s engineering vision, designing distributed systems capable of supporting instant payments, digital lending, embedded finance, AI-powered financial insights, intelligent fraud detection, customer identity services, and cloud-native banking products.
You’ll work in an engineering-first culture where technical excellence, architectural innovation, automation, and continuous learning are fundamental to every project.
Your Mission
You will architect and build backend platforms that remain resilient under enormous transaction volumes while maintaining exceptional reliability, security, and scalability.
Daily responsibilities include:
- Designing distributed microservice architectures.
- Developing secure REST and GraphQL APIs.
- Building payment processing engines.
- Developing customer onboarding services.
- Optimizing high-volume transaction processing.
- Implementing event-driven architectures.
- Designing fault-tolerant banking services.
- Improving database performance.
- Automating deployments using CI/CD.
- Participating in architecture decision sessions.
- Performing code reviews.
- Driving engineering best practices.

Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
- 7+ years building enterprise backend systems.
- Previous fintech, banking, or payment platform experience.
- Experience building highly scalable distributed systems.
- Strong software architecture knowledge.
