Strategic Role Overview
A sophisticated fintech banking institution in Doha is recruiting a highly experienced Principal Banking Security Architect – Financial Infrastructure Protection, Zero Trust & Advanced Threat Defense to lead the design and implementation of next-generation security architectures across its financial systems.
This role is designed for a top-tier security expert who can architect end-to-end protection strategies across distributed banking platforms, payment systems, and data infrastructures. You will implement Zero Trust models, advanced threat detection systems, and resilient security frameworks that protect against both external attacks and internal vulnerabilities.
Operating at a strategic level, you will shape how security is embedded into every layer of the fintech banking ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement enterprise-level security architecture for fintech banking platforms
- Develop Zero Trust security models and advanced threat detection systems
- Secure APIs, payment systems, and distributed financial infrastructures
- Implement encryption, identity management, and access control frameworks
- Lead vulnerability management, penetration testing, and risk assessment initiatives
- Ensure compliance with Qatar banking regulations and global cybersecurity standards
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate security into system design
- Mentor security teams and guide technical decision-making
- Evaluate emerging cybersecurity technologies and threats
- Drive continuous improvement in security posture and resilience
- Oversee security audits, reporting, and governance frameworks
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related discipline
- 8+ years of experience in banking security or cybersecurity architecture
- Strong expertise in infrastructure security and threat mitigation
- Experience with Zero Trust architecture and advanced security frameworks
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Leadership and stakeholder management capabilities
Preferred Expertise
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or advanced security credentials
- Experience with financial systems and payment infrastructures
- Knowledge of cloud-native security and DevSecOps
- Familiarity with international cybersecurity standards
