About the Role
An internationally expanding fintech organization is seeking an exceptional Lead Cryptocurrency Security Engineer to strengthen the security posture of enterprise digital asset platforms supporting cryptocurrency services, blockchain infrastructure, digital wallets, and institutional custody environments.
This highly strategic engineering role is responsible for designing and implementing advanced security architectures that protect blockchain applications, digital asset custody systems, cryptographic infrastructure, smart contracts, wallet technologies, APIs, cloud-native environments, and mission-critical financial services.
Working alongside blockchain developers, enterprise architects, DevSecOps engineers, cybersecurity analysts, cloud engineers, product managers, compliance specialists, and executive leadership, you will help establish a world-class security framework supporting the organization’s long-term digital asset strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement enterprise security architectures for cryptocurrency platforms.
- Secure blockchain infrastructure, digital wallets, APIs, and smart contract ecosystems.
- Conduct blockchain application security assessments and threat modeling exercises.
- Develop secure key management, encryption, and digital identity solutions.
- Integrate automated security testing into software development pipelines.
- Monitor emerging blockchain threats and recommend proactive security improvements.
- Support penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and remediation programmes.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement secure software development practices.
- Participate in architecture governance and technical design reviews.
- Produce technical security documentation and engineering standards.
- Mentor security engineers and contribute to enterprise cybersecurity maturity.
- Support business continuity and cyber resilience initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
- Master’s degree is advantageous.
- Minimum 8 years of cybersecurity or application security experience, including substantial exposure to blockchain or digital asset technologies.
- Strong understanding of cryptography, secure software engineering, cloud security, and blockchain infrastructure.
- Excellent technical leadership, analytical thinking, and communication skills.
