Role Overview
A rapidly expanding fintech initiative in Riyadh is seeking a visionary Lead Blockchain Engineer – DeFi Infrastructure, Protocol Engineering & Financial Systems Integration to lead the development of decentralized financial protocols and blockchain-powered financial products.
This role is designed for an engineer who can bridge decentralized systems with real-world financial applications, building infrastructure that supports lending, liquidity, payments, and asset management in a secure and scalable manner.
You will operate both as a hands-on developer and a technical leader—defining architecture, mentoring engineers, and driving innovation across blockchain initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of DeFi protocols and smart contract ecosystems
- Build blockchain-based systems for lending, staking, liquidity pools, and digital asset trading
- Develop and audit smart contracts for security, efficiency, and reliability
- Integrate blockchain platforms with backend services and financial systems
- Optimize transaction performance and minimize gas costs
- Implement cross-chain interoperability and multi-network support
- Collaborate with product, risk, and compliance teams to deliver scalable solutions
- Ensure compliance with Saudi fintech and blockchain regulatory frameworks
- Conduct technical reviews, mentor engineers, and enforce coding standards
- Stay ahead of emerging trends in decentralized finance and blockchain technology
- Drive innovation and long-term blockchain strategy
Required Candidate Profile
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
- 6+ years of software development experience with strong blockchain expertise
- Proficiency in Solidity, Rust, or Go
- Experience with DeFi protocols and blockchain architectures
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and financial logic
- Leadership experience in engineering teams
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience with cross-chain bridges and interoperability protocols
- Knowledge of zero-knowledge proofs or advanced cryptographic techniques
- Familiarity with smart contract auditing and formal verification
- Exposure to fintech platforms and digital financial ecosystems
