Role Overview
A high-growth fintech banking initiative in Riyadh is seeking a strategic and technically proficient Lead Banking Security Officer – Risk Governance, Threat Intelligence & Secure Financial Operations to lead security governance and risk management across digital banking platforms.
This role is focused on building resilient, compliant, and intelligence-driven security systems that protect financial operations, customer data, and institutional assets. You will combine risk governance with advanced threat intelligence to ensure proactive defense against cyber threats and financial fraud.
You will also play a leadership role in shaping security policies, frameworks, and operational standards across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead banking security strategy, governance, and risk management initiatives
- Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and frameworks
- Monitor threat intelligence and proactively mitigate security risks
- Secure digital banking infrastructure, APIs, and financial systems
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies
- Oversee incident response and coordinate security investigations
- Ensure compliance with Saudi banking regulations and cybersecurity standards
- Manage security audits and regulatory reviews
- Collaborate with technology and operations teams to strengthen security posture
- Train staff on security awareness and best practices
- Track security metrics and continuously improve defense mechanisms
- Drive innovation in banking security strategies
Required Candidate Profile
- Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field
- 6+ years of experience in banking security or cybersecurity
- Strong understanding of risk management and security governance
- Experience with threat intelligence and incident response
- Knowledge of financial systems and banking operations
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to manage complex security environments
Preferred Skills
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CRISC
- Experience with cloud security and infrastructure protection
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks
- Exposure to fraud detection and prevention systems
