The Mission: Abu Dhabi manages $1.5 trillion across ADQ, Mubadala, and ADIA. These funds are deploying capital with increasing speed and complexity—semiconductors, renewable energy, global infrastructure, biotech, and space technology. Traditional investment processes are too slow. You will build AI-native quantitative investment infrastructure that allows Abu Dhabi’s sovereign wealth to originate, evaluate, and execute investments with machine intelligence at every stage.
Your Mandate:
The Origination Engine (0-12 months)

Build “Abu Dhabi Alpha”—an AI system that processes 10 million data points daily (patent filings, satellite imagery, supply chain data, academic publications, social sentiment) to identify investment opportunities before they reach traditional markets

Create “Deal Prediction Models” using natural language processing to analyze earnings calls, regulatory filings, and executive communications, predicting M&A activity, funding rounds, and distressed opportunities

Design “Geopolitical Alpha”—AI models that quantify geopolitical risk and opportunity, predicting sanctions, trade shifts, and regional realignments with investment implications
The Execution Layer (12-24 months)

Launch “Sovereign Quant”—algorithmic trading and direct investment execution systems optimized for large-block transactions, minimizing market impact and information leakage

Build “Alternative Data Infrastructure”—proprietary data streams including maritime shipping tracking, retail foot traffic, energy grid monitoring, and semiconductor supply chain visibility

Create “ESG Quant”—AI-driven environmental, social, and governance scoring that goes beyond ratings agencies, using real-time monitoring of portfolio companies’ actual behavior
The Global Platform (24-36 months)

Establish Abu Dhabi as the world’s leading center for sovereign AI investment, attracting quantitative researchers, data scientists, and alternative asset specialists globally

Build “Sovereign Co-Quant” platforms allowing other state investors to access Abu Dhabi’s AI tools while contributing their own data and strategies

Position the UAE as the thought leader in “Algorithmic State Capitalism”
The Profile: You have built quantitative strategies managing $10B+ at a hedge fund, sovereign wealth fund, or investment bank. Your Sharpe ratio is published in industry journals. You understand that Abu Dhabi’s capital is patient but demanding—returns must align with national strategic objectives, not just financial metrics. You have a PhD in a quantitative field and the battle scars of live trading.
