Role Overview
The Fintech Reconciliation & Settlement Operations Analyst is responsible for ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately reconciled and settled across systems. This role is critical in maintaining financial integrity and operational transparency within fintech platforms.
Process Flow Ownership
Step 1: Transaction Data Collection
- Gather transaction data from multiple sources including payment systems and ledgers.
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of collected data.
Step 2: Reconciliation
- Match transactions across different systems to identify discrepancies.
- Investigate mismatches and determine root causes.
- Ensure all discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner.
Step 3: Settlement Processing
- Oversee settlement of funds between accounts and partners.
- Ensure timely and accurate settlement cycles.
- Monitor settlement status and address delays.
Step 4: Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare reconciliation reports and financial summaries.
- Maintain detailed records for audit and compliance purposes.
- Provide insights into reconciliation performance and issues.
Step 5: Continuous Improvement
- Identify inefficiencies in reconciliation processes.
- Recommend automation and process improvements.
- Support implementation of enhanced reconciliation systems.
Required Experience
- 4–8 years in fintech operations, reconciliation, or financial analysis.
- Strong understanding of transaction flows and settlement processes.
Technical Skills
- Financial reconciliation tools and systems
- Data analysis and reporting tools
- Strong Excel or equivalent skills
