Role Overview
This role focuses on managing payment disputes and chargeback processes, ensuring fair resolution between customers, merchants, and financial systems while maintaining compliance and operational accuracy.
A Typical Workday in This Role
Morning: Case Review & Prioritization
- Review newly raised disputes and chargeback cases
- Categorize cases based on urgency and type
- Validate supporting documentation and transaction details
Midday: Investigation & Analysis
- Analyze transaction history and dispute reasons
- Identify patterns such as repeated disputes or fraud indicators
- Communicate with internal teams to gather additional data
Afternoon: Resolution & Processing
- Process chargebacks and reversals where applicable
- Ensure proper documentation of outcomes
- Update systems with resolution status
End of Day: Reporting & Insights
- Prepare daily reports on dispute volumes and resolution rates
- Highlight recurring issues and suggest improvements
- Maintain records for compliance and audits
Extended Responsibilities
- Improve dispute handling workflows
- Reduce chargeback ratios through proactive measures
- Collaborate with risk and fraud teams
Required Qualifications
- 5–9 years of experience in payment operations, disputes, or fintech
- Strong understanding of chargeback processes
- Analytical and investigative skills
- Ability to manage multiple cases remotely
