Role Overview
The Digital Payments Settlement & Clearing Manager is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of payment settlement processes, ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately cleared, reconciled, and settled across multiple financial systems.
This role plays a critical function in maintaining the integrity of financial operations, ensuring that transaction flows between merchants, financial institutions, and payment processors are executed seamlessly.
End-to-End Responsibilities
Transaction Clearing & Settlement Management
- Oversee the clearing and settlement of digital payments across multiple channels
- Ensure timely movement of funds between counterparties
- Monitor settlement cycles and identify delays or discrepancies
Reconciliation & Financial Accuracy
- Perform reconciliation between internal systems, banking partners, and payment processors
- Investigate and resolve mismatched or failed transactions
- Maintain accurate financial records for reporting and auditing
Operational Process Optimization
- Improve settlement workflows to enhance efficiency and scalability
- Introduce automation to reduce manual intervention
- Optimize transaction routing and processing mechanisms
Risk & Compliance Oversight
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and settlement standards
- Monitor for operational risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Support audit processes and regulatory reporting
Stakeholder & Partner Coordination
- Work with banks, payment processors, and internal teams
- Coordinate resolution of settlement-related issues
- Provide insights into transaction trends and operational performance
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 5–9 years of experience in payments, settlement, or fintech operations
- Strong understanding of clearing and settlement systems
- Experience working in remote operational environments
