Role Overview
The Fintech Card Issuing & Processing Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the full operational lifecycle of card-based financial products, including debit, prepaid, and virtual cards. This role ensures that card issuance, transaction authorization, clearing, and settlement processes function efficiently within a secure and compliant framework.
The role combines operational leadership with technical awareness of card processing ecosystems, requiring the ability to manage complex workflows across multiple financial systems.
End-to-End Ownership Areas
Card Issuance & Lifecycle Management
- Manage card issuance processes including activation, renewal, and deactivation
- Oversee customer onboarding linkage to card products
- Ensure accurate configuration of card parameters and limits
Transaction Processing
- Monitor authorization flows for card transactions
- Ensure high transaction success rates across POS, ATM, and online channels
- Coordinate with processors and networks to resolve transaction issues
Clearing & Settlement
- Supervise clearing and settlement cycles
- Ensure accurate reconciliation of card transactions
- Investigate and resolve settlement discrepancies
Operational Risk & Compliance
- Implement controls to mitigate fraud and operational risks
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies
- Maintain audit-ready documentation for all processes
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily card operations and system performance
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including technology, finance, and compliance
- Analyze transaction data to identify inefficiencies and optimization opportunities
- Support the rollout of new card features and enhancements
- Develop operational KPIs and monitor performance metrics
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or Information Systems
- 5–9 years of experience in card operations or fintech payments
- Strong understanding of card processing systems and workflows
- Experience with transaction monitoring and reconciliation
