An ambitious financial technology institution is seeking an accomplished Executive Director – Digital Payments Innovation to spearhead the design, execution, and expansion of next-generation payment ecosystems across the Gulf region.
This executive leadership role offers the opportunity to shape large-scale payment modernization initiatives, oversee enterprise-wide digital transformation strategies, and collaborate with global financial institutions, regulators, technology partners, and executive stakeholders to deliver secure, intelligent, and scalable financial solutions.
The successful candidate will possess exceptional leadership capabilities, deep financial technology expertise, and a proven history of delivering complex digital payment initiatives within highly regulated financial environments.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop enterprise-wide digital payments strategy.
- Lead modernization of payment infrastructure.
- Oversee instant payments, mobile payments, and digital wallet ecosystems.
- Direct cross-functional technology, product, cybersecurity, and compliance teams.
- Establish innovation frameworks for emerging financial technologies.
- Drive operational excellence and business transformation.
- Ensure platform resilience, availability, and scalability.
- Collaborate with regional banking partners and payment networks.
- Present strategic initiatives to executive leadership and board members.
- Foster a culture of continuous innovation and operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Finance, Engineering, or Information Technology.
- MBA is highly desirable.
- 12+ years of progressive fintech leadership experience.
- Extensive knowledge of digital payment architecture.
- Strong understanding of enterprise governance and technology strategy.
- Experience leading multi-million-dollar transformation programmes.
- Outstanding communication and executive stakeholder management skills.
