Role Overview
A remote-first fintech operation supporting regional payment ecosystems in the UAE is seeking a Digital Payments Operations Manager to oversee end-to-end transaction workflows, merchant onboarding processes, and payment reconciliation systems. This role is critical to ensuring operational efficiency, regulatory alignment, and seamless digital payment experiences across multiple channels.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of digital payment systems including card processing, wallets, and real-time transfers
- Oversee merchant onboarding lifecycle, including KYC verification and risk profiling
- Monitor transaction flows to identify anomalies, fraud indicators, and operational inefficiencies
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams such as compliance, engineering, and customer support
- Ensure adherence to UAE financial regulations and payment scheme requirements
- Generate operational reports, dashboards, and performance analytics
- Optimize settlement cycles and reconciliation processes
- Handle escalations related to failed or delayed transactions
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline
- 4–7 years of experience in fintech, banking operations, or digital payments
- Strong understanding of payment gateways, card networks, and transaction lifecycles
- Familiarity with AML/KYC compliance frameworks
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel or SQL
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience working remotely in distributed teams
- Knowledge of APIs and payment integrations
- Exposure to fraud detection systems
- Understanding of ISO 8583 or similar messaging standards
