Position Overview
We are seeking an accomplished Director to provide strategic leadership across digital payments, financial infrastructure, transaction platforms, and next-generation banking technology. This position is designed for a senior fintech professional capable of connecting commercial strategy with sophisticated technology architecture and operational execution.
The successful candidate will shape payment infrastructure strategies covering digital wallets, merchant acquiring, account-to-account payments, payment orchestration, transaction processing, APIs, embedded finance, and cross-border payment capabilities.
This is a high-impact leadership position requiring a strong understanding of financial services, payment ecosystems, regulatory environments, technology transformation, and rapidly evolving customer expectations across the Gulf region.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute long-term digital payments and financial infrastructure strategies.

Lead transformation initiatives across payment processing, wallets, merchant platforms, and banking interfaces.

Evaluate emerging payment technologies and determine their commercial and operational viability.

Establish strategic frameworks for payment orchestration, API banking, embedded finance, and real-time transactions.

Work with technology, product, risk, compliance, finance, and commercial teams to deliver large-scale initiatives.

Develop performance frameworks covering transaction reliability, payment success rates, customer experience, cost efficiency, and operational resilience.

Identify opportunities for automation and intelligent transaction management.

Assess fintech partnerships, technology vendors, payment networks, and infrastructure providers.

Provide executive-level recommendations on investment priorities and technology modernization.

Establish governance frameworks for critical financial technology platforms.

Support regional expansion and cross-border payment initiatives throughout GCC markets.

Monitor industry developments and translate emerging technologies into practical business opportunities.
Required Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

Advanced qualification such as an MBA, MSc, or professional fintech qualification is advantageous.

10+ years of progressive experience in fintech, payments, banking technology, financial infrastructure, or related sectors.

Demonstrated experience managing complex digital transformation programs.

Strong knowledge of payment ecosystems and financial technology architecture.

Experience working with senior executives and multidisciplinary teams.

Strong understanding of APIs, cloud platforms, payment gateways, digital wallets, and transaction-processing environments.

Excellent commercial, analytical, and strategic decision-making capabilities.
