In this role, your primary responsibility is to ensure that international money transfers are processed smoothly, accurately, and efficiently. As a Cross-Border Payments Specialist, you will manage the lifecycle of a transaction—from initiation to settlement—ensuring compliance, accuracy, and speed.
Transaction Lifecycle Responsibilities
Payment Initiation Review
- Verify transaction details including sender, recipient, and transfer amount
- Ensure compliance with international payment regulations and internal policies
Processing & Routing
- Route transactions through appropriate payment networks and banking channels
- Monitor processing timelines and address delays or failures
Settlement & Reconciliation
- Confirm successful settlement of transactions
- Reconcile payment records with system data
- Investigate discrepancies and resolve issues
Ongoing Responsibilities
- Monitor exchange rate applications and transaction fees
- Collaborate with financial institutions and payment partners
- Maintain accurate records for audit and compliance purposes
- Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements
Candidate Profile
- Experience in payments, remittances, or banking operations
- Strong understanding of international payment systems
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Minimum Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in cross-border payments or fintech
- Familiarity with SWIFT, remittance systems, or payment gateways
- Basic understanding of foreign exchange processes
- Proficiency in Excel or financial tracking tools
