Executive Overview

Financial institutions across the Gulf region are rapidly transitioning toward open banking ecosystems that allow secure data exchange and financial service integration between banks, fintech providers, and digital platforms. These ecosystems rely heavily on robust API infrastructures, advanced data governance frameworks, and scalable cloud-based financial platforms.

The Vice President – Open Banking Platforms & Financial API Ecosystems will lead the development of sophisticated financial infrastructure designed to support the expansion of open financial services. This executive role focuses on creating secure API frameworks that enable seamless collaboration between banks, fintech innovators, and digital commerce platforms.

Operating remotely while contributing to financial innovation aligned with the fintech ecosystem in the United Arab Emirates, the Vice President will guide initiatives that enable financial institutions to expand digital services, improve interoperability, and accelerate fintech partnerships.

Strategic Responsibilities

Open Banking Platform Architecture

• Design scalable financial API infrastructures that enable secure data sharing between financial institutions and fintech providers.

• Implement microservices-based platform architectures supporting modular financial services.

• Establish API governance standards ensuring platform reliability and interoperability.

Fintech Ecosystem Development

• Support the creation of financial service ecosystems that connect banks, fintech developers, and digital platforms.

• Enable third-party developers to build innovative financial services using standardized API frameworks.

Financial Data Security & Governance

• Develop data protection frameworks ensuring secure financial data exchange across platforms.

• Introduce strong identity verification and authentication mechanisms protecting customer data.

Platform Scalability & Performance

• Oversee performance optimization initiatives ensuring fintech platforms can support large transaction volumes.

• Introduce monitoring systems that maintain platform stability and reliability.

Technology Environment

Technologies typically associated with this role include:

• API gateway infrastructures supporting financial integrations

• Cloud-native fintech platforms and distributed microservices architectures

Candidate Profile

Professional Experience:

15+ years within fintech platform development, banking technology architecture, or financial API ecosystems.

Technical Expertise:

Strong understanding of open banking architectures, distributed financial systems, and cloud-based fintech platforms.

Leadership Experience:

Experience managing global fintech engineering teams responsible for large-scale financial platform deployments.

Strategic Contribution

This role will contribute to building next-generation open banking ecosystems that support the UAE’s rapidly evolving fintech landscape, enabling financial institutions to expand digital financial services securely and efficiently.
