The Opportunity

Digital financial ecosystems generate enormous volumes of transactional data. This position is focused on converting that data into early-warning intelligence capable of identifying suspicious behaviour, emerging fraud patterns, and abnormal transaction activity.

The successful candidate will operate between fraud operations, data analytics, technology, and financial-crime risk.

Core Responsibilities

  • Analyse transactional data to identify unusual behavioural patterns.

  • Develop analytical approaches for detecting payment fraud and account abuse.

  • Investigate emerging fraud typologies and their digital signatures.

  • Monitor transaction-monitoring performance and detection effectiveness.

  • Work with data scientists to improve fraud-detection models.

  • Develop rules, thresholds, indicators, and analytical scenarios for suspicious activity.

  • Conduct retrospective analysis of confirmed fraud cases to identify control weaknesses.

  • Analyse customer, device, transaction, geographic, behavioural, and network-level indicators.

  • Support development of real-time fraud-monitoring capabilities.

  • Produce analytical reports for fraud, risk, compliance, and executive stakeholders.

  • Track false-positive rates and recommend optimisation strategies.

  • Collaborate with cybersecurity and engineering teams to strengthen preventive controls.

  • Participate in investigations involving payment fraud, identity abuse, account takeover, and transaction manipulation.

Required Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.

  • 4–8 years of experience in fraud analytics, transaction monitoring, financial crime, risk analytics, payments, or fintech.

  • Strong SQL and analytical capabilities.

  • Experience with Python, statistical analysis, BI platforms, or machine-learning tools is desirable.

  • Understanding of payment ecosystems and digital transaction behaviour.

  • Strong investigative reasoning and attention to anomalous patterns.

  • Ability to communicate technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.

Indicative Compensation

QAR 28,000–40,000 monthly + benefits, dependent on expertise and role scope.
