Senior Remote Payments & Financial Infrastructure Lead – United Arab Emirates
Position Synopsis
This role is structured using a classic international corporate specification, emphasizing clarity of scope, measurable competencies, and accountable outcomes. It is intended for a senior fintech professional with extensive exposure to digital payments, transaction orchestration, and financial infrastructure modernization. The engagement is fully remote while strategically aligned with the UAE’s role as a global conduit for payments, trade finance, and cross-border financial flows.
Role Purpose
To design, govern, and continuously evolve scalable payment and transaction systems that meet international standards for resilience, interoperability, and regulatory readiness—without attachment to any single platform or organization.
Primary Accountability Areas

Infrastructure Design & Oversight: Define end-to-end architectures for authorization, clearing, settlement, and reconciliation across multi-currency environments.

Transaction Governance: Establish control frameworks for transaction integrity, fraud mitigation, dispute handling, and operational continuity.

Interoperability & Integration: Define API standards and integration logic across wallets, gateways, banks, and external payment networks.

Regulatory Alignment: Ensure system designs are audit-ready and aligned with international supervisory expectations.

Performance & Resilience: Set benchmarks for latency, throughput, availability, and fault tolerance.
Detailed Responsibilities

Produce comprehensive architecture documentation and system blueprints.

Lead design reviews and provide authoritative guidance on payment system upgrades.

Evaluate emerging payment technologies and settlement models for large-scale applicability.

Define KPIs tied to transaction success rates, exception handling, and system resilience.

Collaborate remotely with senior technical, legal, and risk stakeholders.
Required Experience & Credentials

12–16 years in fintech, payments engineering, or financial infrastructure leadership.

Deep understanding of payment lifecycles and transaction risk controls.

Proven ability to operate at senior leadership level in regulated environments.

Strong documentation, governance, and stakeholder-communication skills.
