Role Overview:
Saudi Arabia’s move towards instant payments and cashless transactions has created a demand for high-availability, low-latency payment processing systems. We are seeking a Senior Real-Time Payment Infrastructure Engineer to design, optimize, and maintain the technical backbone for next-generation payment systems capable of supporting millions of transactions per second with guaranteed security, compliance, and scalability.
Key Responsibilities:

Architect and deploy real-time payment processing systems aligned with Saudi Payments’ SARIE Instant Payment System specifications.

Implement ISO 20022-based messaging for cross-border interoperability and domestic payment clearing.

Optimize system latency to ensure sub-second transaction completion.

Develop robust APIs for banks, fintechs, and merchants to connect directly to the RTP network.

Integrate advanced fraud detection algorithms that operate in real-time without affecting transaction speeds.

Implement disaster recovery protocols, geo-redundancy, and high-availability configurations.

Conduct performance benchmarking and load testing for peak transaction volumes.

Ensure compliance with Saudi Central Bank regulations and PCI-DSS security standards.

Coordinate with cybersecurity teams to protect against DDoS attacks, man-in-the-middle attacks, and other real-time threats.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or Fintech Systems Architecture.

8+ years in payments infrastructure development, with proven experience in RTP systems.

Proficiency in high-throughput, low-latency system design using Java, Go, or C++.

Knowledge of ISO 20022, SWIFT gpi, and domestic instant payment frameworks.

Strong understanding of network security protocols and cloud-native deployments.
Preferred Skills:

Certification in payment systems engineering or financial transaction security.

Prior work on national-scale instant payment systems.

Experience with AI-driven fraud prevention models for RTP.
