Role Overview

Qatar’s financial transformation agenda prioritizes frictionless, intelligent payment ecosystems capable of supporting hyper-connected commerce, sovereign digital initiatives, and large-scale financial modernization. This position leads enterprise strategy, technical governance, and innovation modelling for an intelligent payments architecture spanning the entire payment value chain.

The Architect will define digital-payment system principles, design high-resilience API frameworks, coordinate AI-powered risk-detection models, and develop ecosystem-wide embedded-finance capabilities across retail, corporate, and cross-border corridors.

Key Responsibilities

Payments Intelligence Frameworks

• Build adaptive payment-routing engines integrating multi-rail networks, smart orchestration logic, and performance telemetry.

• Integrate AI-based fraud detection, anomaly modelling, and real-time behavioural scoring.

Embedded-Finance Ecosystem Engineering

• Lead design of end-to-end embedded-finance layers: onboarding, KYC orchestration, payment initiation services, digital-wallet frameworks, and enterprise payment APIs.

• Define tokenized payment authentication methodologies and modern authorization flows.

Strategic Financial Infrastructure Design

• Produce Qatar-specific payments modernization roadmaps incorporating regulatory evolution, cross-border requirements, and national infrastructure incentives.

• Model economic outcomes for smart-commerce ecosystems and embedded-finance expansion.

Requirements

• 8+ years in payments architecture, embedded finance, API ecosystems, or advanced fintech strategy.

• Demonstrable expertise in payment rails, authorization flows, orchestration engines, and AI-driven payment intelligence.

• Strong understanding of regional infrastructure and GCC regulatory frameworks.
