Position Overview
The Senior Fintech Integration Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining seamless integrations between financial platforms, third-party service providers, and core banking systems. This role plays a foundational part in enabling interoperability across digital financial ecosystems, ensuring that APIs, payment gateways, and backend services operate cohesively.
This position requires a technically proficient individual with a strong understanding of fintech infrastructure, capable of working within distributed systems while maintaining high levels of performance, security, and compliance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain API integrations with payment processors, banking systems, and financial service providers
- Design scalable and secure microservices to support financial transactions and data exchange
- Collaborate with product and operations teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues, ensuring minimal system downtime
- Implement data encryption and secure communication protocols across all integrations
- Monitor system performance and optimize latency and throughput
- Ensure compliance with financial data standards and regional regulatory requirements
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for all integration processes
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 5–8 years of experience in software engineering or fintech integration
- Strong proficiency in RESTful APIs, JSON, and XML
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Familiarity with payment protocols and financial messaging standards (e.g., ISO systems)
- Knowledge of cybersecurity practices within financial environments
Preferred Skills
- Experience with containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Understanding of event-driven architectures
- Exposure to real-time payment systems and open banking frameworks
