Kuwait’s financial sector is undergoing digital acceleration, with a strong emphasis on remittance modernization due to its large expatriate population and cross-border financial flows. The country is positioned to benefit from blockchain-powered settlement systems, ISO 20022 alignment, and CBDC readiness, all of which will redefine its payments infrastructure.

We are seeking a Remote Senior Director – Cross-Border Payments Infrastructure & Remittance Innovation, responsible for modernizing Kuwait’s payments landscape. This role will focus on building seamless remittance pipelines, introducing digital-first settlement systems, and ensuring global interoperability across corridors.

Core Responsibilities

• Architect frameworks for next-generation cross-border payment systems, aligned with ISO 20022.

• Lead development of blockchain-based remittance and settlement networks.

• Collaborate with regulators to design CBDC-ready infrastructures supporting interoperability.

• Build real-time gross settlement (RTGS) enhancements for faster clearing and reconciliation.

• Oversee fraud-prevention and AML-compliant digital identity integration in remittance systems.

• Partner with fintechs and payment processors to expand multi-currency wallet ecosystems.

• Drive consumer adoption through mobile-first remittance platforms with intuitive UX.

• Develop long-term strategies for positioning Kuwait as a regional cross-border payments hub.

Candidate Profile

• 12–16 years in payments infrastructure, remittances innovation, or financial technology.

• Proven track record in cross-border settlement and blockchain-enabled payments.

• Familiarity with GCC payments modernization programs and international best practices.

• Experience managing regulatory compliance and interoperability challenges.

• Strong leadership in remote, multi-jurisdictional fintech implementations.
