Role Overview

This role provides strategic leadership across the UAE’s rapidly maturing digital payments ecosystem by architecting, optimizing, and scaling next-generation payment infrastructure models. The individual will steer enterprise-grade digital payment innovations that align with UAE expectations for interoperability, cybersecurity resilience, embedded finance adoption, national digital identity synchronization, and frictionless cross-border flows.

The position requires deep mastery of instant payments frameworks, tokenized settlement models, transaction-level risk intelligence, and high-availability payment gateway engineering within the UAE’s regulatory outlook.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and oversee end-to-end strategy for real-time digital payments modernization across card rails, A2A payments, QR-based settlement, and tokenized wallet systems.

• Lead development of integrated cross-border remittance networks aligned with UAE compliance, risk scoring algorithms, AML/CTF real-time monitoring, and FATF-aligned governance.

• Establish enterprise-scale frameworks for digital identity integration, biometric user verification, and UAE-specific KYC orchestration.

• Direct cloud-first architecture for payment gateway scalability, including API abstraction design, event-driven microservices, and secure multi-tenancy.

• Build data-driven payment intelligence models for anomaly scoring, behavioral transaction fingerprinting, and predictive fraud-risk mitigation.

• Produce executive-level impact assessments, regulatory alignment briefs, and payments ecosystem scaling strategies for UAE stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

• 10+ years in digital payments strategy, payment gateway engineering, or enterprise fintech infrastructure.

• Deep understanding of UAE digital payments regulatory frameworks, financial risk architecture, AML/CTF compliance, and cross-border remittance standards.

• Mastery of API ecosystems, microservices, cloud-native engineering, ISO 20022, tokenization frameworks, and digital identity orchestration.

• Proven leadership experience scaling complex payment infrastructure in high-growth or international environments.
