Role Overview
The Senior Digital Payments Solutions Architect will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing scalable, secure, and innovative payment solutions tailored for the Omani market. This role requires deep expertise in digital payment infrastructures, regulatory compliance, cross-border payment systems, and emerging transaction technologies such as tokenization, biometric authentication, and blockchain-integrated payments. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, compliance, and user experience, to deliver market-ready solutions that meet the highest performance, security, and scalability standards.
Key Responsibilities

Architect and implement high-performance digital payment platforms, including mobile wallets, real-time payments, and API-driven payment gateways.

Conduct comprehensive market research on Oman’s payment ecosystem, identifying opportunities for product differentiation.

Integrate emerging payment technologies, including NFC, QR code systems, and distributed ledger solutions, into core payment architectures.

Ensure full compliance with the Central Bank of Oman’s guidelines, ISO 20022 messaging standards, and PCI DSS certification requirements.

Oversee integration with local banks, telecom operators, and international payment processors.

Lead risk assessment and mitigation strategies to prevent fraud, downtime, and data breaches.

Define technical standards, frameworks, and reference architectures for development teams.

Drive innovation by evaluating and piloting new payment technologies to enhance user convenience and security.
Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum 8 years of experience in digital payment systems, fintech product development, or banking technology architecture.

Proven track record of leading large-scale payment platform implementations in GCC markets.

Strong knowledge of PCI DSS, AML/CFT frameworks, and PSD2/Open Banking API standards.

Experience with cloud-native architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Java, Kotlin, Python, or Go.
Preferred Skills

Familiarity with AI-powered fraud detection systems.

Understanding of cross-border remittance systems and SWIFT GPI.

Experience working with blockchain-based settlement systems.
