Role Overview
The Senior Digital Payments Solutions Architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimising cutting-edge payment ecosystems that align with the UAE’s rapidly evolving digital economy. This position will play a pivotal role in shaping advanced transaction frameworks, integrating innovative payment methods, and ensuring the scalability, security, and compliance of digital payment infrastructures across retail, banking, and e-commerce sectors.
The role demands extensive expertise in omnichannel payment architecture, card and non-card payment rails, tokenisation frameworks, and AI-driven fraud prevention technologies. You will be a key contributor to strategic decision-making in digital transaction ecosystems and will engage with stakeholders across banks, fintech startups, and payment network operators.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of end-to-end digital payment solutions, including POS integrations, QR-based systems, and mobile wallet platforms.

Establish secure and compliant connections with local and international payment gateways, ensuring adherence to UAE Central Bank and PCI DSS requirements.

Build frameworks for instant payment systems, cross-border settlement processes, and advanced merchant acquiring networks.

Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to integrate biometric authentication, encryption protocols, and AI-powered risk scoring models.

Oversee technical integration between banking APIs, merchant applications, and consumer-facing payment channels.

Provide strategic direction for scaling transaction processing infrastructure to handle high-volume, low-latency payment flows.

Develop real-time analytics and dashboard systems for monitoring transaction performance, fraud detection, and customer behaviour trends.

Partner with regulatory bodies to ensure full compliance with UAE’s financial and data protection laws.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Financial Technology, or related field.

10+ years of experience in payments architecture, transaction systems design, and fintech infrastructure.

Proven expertise in ISO 8583, EMV standards, NFC, tokenisation, and blockchain-based payment systems.

Strong understanding of real-time payment systems, SWIFT ISO 20022 migration, and open banking APIs.

Track record of leading high-impact fintech projects within GCC markets.

Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
