Role Overview
Behind every seamless payment lies a complex network of switching systems and gateway infrastructures. This role is for a fintech professional who can design, manage, and optimize high-performance payment gateways and switching networks that power digital transactions across multiple channels.
You will oversee systems that act as the central nervous system of payment ecosystems, ensuring speed, reliability, and security across millions of transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize payment gateway infrastructure, including routing and transaction processing
- Design and maintain switching systems connecting banks, processors, and payment networks
- Ensure high system availability with minimal downtime and low latency
- Integrate with card networks, digital wallets, and alternative payment methods
- Implement fraud detection and transaction monitoring systems
- Monitor KPIs such as transaction success rates, processing speed, and system uptime
- Ensure compliance with payment security standards and regulatory requirements
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Finance
- 8+ years in payments infrastructure or fintech systems
- Strong understanding of payment processing flows and switching architectures
- Experience with API integrations and distributed systems
- Ability to manage high-volume transaction environments
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of PCI-DSS and payment security frameworks
- Experience with real-time payment systems
- Familiarity with card schemes and acquiring/issuing processes
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities
