A leading international fintech banking institution is seeking an experienced Safety Officer to champion workplace health, safety, emergency preparedness, and operational resilience across its regional headquarters and technology campuses.
In a fast-paced environment where software engineers, cybersecurity specialists, data scientists, operations teams, and executive leaders collaborate to build next-generation financial solutions, maintaining a safe, secure, and compliant workplace is fundamental to sustained innovation and business continuity.
This role extends beyond traditional occupational safety responsibilities. You will partner with Facilities Management, Corporate Security, Human Resources, Information Technology, Business Continuity, Executive Leadership, and external service providers to establish a proactive safety culture that protects people, assets, and critical business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive workplace health and safety programmes.
- Conduct routine safety inspections, workplace audits, and risk assessments.
- Identify hazards and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure compliance with local occupational health and safety legislation and internal corporate standards.
- Coordinate emergency response plans, evacuation drills, and crisis preparedness exercises.
- Investigate workplace incidents, near misses, and safety observations.
- Deliver safety awareness training for employees and contractors.
- Maintain safety documentation, audit reports, and compliance records.
- Collaborate with Facilities teams on workplace ergonomics and office safety improvements.
- Monitor contractor compliance during maintenance and renovation activities.
- Support business continuity and resilience initiatives.
- Promote a culture of continuous safety improvement across all departments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related discipline.
- Professional safety certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Minimum 5 years of workplace safety experience in corporate, banking, technology, or commercial environments.
- Strong knowledge of occupational health, emergency planning, and risk management.
