Strategic Mandate
This role exists at the intersection of next-generation payment systems, large-scale financial infrastructure, and cross-border transaction design. The Principal Digital Payments & Financial Infrastructure Architect is entrusted with architecting, governing, and optimizing complex, high-volume, multi-jurisdictional payment ecosystems that operate seamlessly across global financial networks while maintaining deep relevance to the evolving GCC digital economy.
The mandate is not executional alone; it is architectural, strategic, and systemic—shaping how value moves across borders, platforms, and financial institutions at scale.
Core Responsibilities

Architect end-to-end digital payments ecosystems spanning real-time payments, card networks, wallet infrastructures, and cross-border settlement layers

Design scalable transaction routing frameworks supporting multi-currency, multi-ledger, and multi-network interoperability

Define enterprise-grade payments architecture aligned with global standards (ISO 20022, SWIFT messaging frameworks, RTP protocols)

Lead systems thinking initiatives to reduce friction, latency, and reconciliation complexity across financial rails

Develop governance models for transaction integrity, fraud prevention, and systemic resilience

Collaborate with international stakeholders across banking, fintech, payment networks, and regulatory ecosystems

Produce executive-level architectural documentation and decision frameworks for senior leadership audiences
Required Expertise

Deep expertise in global payments architecture, clearing and settlement systems, and transaction lifecycle design

Advanced knowledge of real-time payment frameworks, cross-border payment optimization, and liquidity orchestration

Strong command of financial messaging standards and payment network interoperability

Proven experience designing systems that operate at national or multi-regional scale

Ability to translate technical complexity into strategic business outcomes
