Role Mandate & Strategic Context

This role is designed for a senior-level fintech architect operating at the intersection of large-scale digital payments infrastructure, national financial modernization programs, and cross-border transaction ecosystems. The position assumes full remote delivery while maintaining strategic alignment with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s rapidly evolving digital finance and payments landscape.

The successful candidate will function as a principal architect and strategic technologist, responsible for shaping next-generation payment rails, real-time settlement frameworks, and scalable transaction orchestration platforms capable of supporting high-volume, low-latency financial ecosystems across domestic and international corridors.

Core Strategic Responsibilities

• Architect end-to-end real-time payments platforms, including transaction routing, clearing, settlement, and reconciliation layers.

• Design API-first, cloud-native financial infrastructure optimized for horizontal scalability and regulatory resilience.

• Lead the development of high-availability payment switching systems, wallet interoperability frameworks, and merchant acquiring architectures.

• Define technical standards for cross-border payments, FX automation, and liquidity orchestration.

• Collaborate with policy, compliance, and risk specialists to embed regulatory logic directly into system architecture.

• Provide architectural oversight for security models, including encryption, tokenization, fraud detection, and operational risk controls.

• Serve as a strategic advisor on fintech infrastructure modernization initiatives impacting large national payment ecosystems.

Required Expertise & Professional Profile

• 12+ years of experience in payments engineering, core banking platforms, or large-scale fintech systems.

• Deep expertise in real-time payments (RTP), ISO 20022, message orchestration, and settlement engines.

• Advanced proficiency in microservices architecture, distributed systems, and event-driven financial platforms.

• Strong understanding of financial market infrastructures, transaction lifecycle management, and operational resilience.

• Proven experience operating in or designing systems for GCC or emerging high-growth financial markets.

Salary Structure & Compensation (Saudi Arabia Benchmark)

• Base Monthly Salary: SAR 55,000 – SAR 75,000

• Annual Performance Incentive: 25% – 40% of base salary

• Long-Term Incentive (Deferred): Performance-linked technical leadership bonus
